at marden Primary academy in kent
Our outdoor sessions are open every Saturday morning all year round.
The Rugby Taggers Progression Program is designed to introduce children as young as 2.5 years old to rugby, underpinning the core fundamentals of rugby through fun and games.
Tiny Taggers: 2.5 to 5 years 9 – 9:45am
This session is for boys and girls aged 2.5-5 years old.
A fantastic way to introduce your little ones to real outdoor rugby while playing games, having fun, making friends and memories.
Parent participation is essential and encourages children to grow confident and engage in a social environment. This is true parent/child bonding time, you will rarely see mobile devices in anyone’s hands!
For more information about how parents take part visit our socials or ‘Our Story So Far’ page.
Junior Taggers: 6 to 10 years 10:15 – 11:00am
This session is for boys and girls aged 6 – 10 (or end of year 6 primary school age).
Junior Taggers can be for children from the Tiny Taggers age groups to progress into or for older children with little/no rugby experience to join.
A perfect way for your child to learn rugby skills and techniques through activities and playing games plus, if applicable, to prepare your child for rugby playing secondary schools.
This group does not require parent participation unless requested.
tag to tackle: School years 6, 7, 8 and 9
Tag To Tackle is the next progressional step at Rugby Taggers covering a wide range of rugby techniques and skills in a SAFE AND CONTROLLED environment, bridging the gap from tag rugby to contact rugby.
This new age group is perfect for children who will be/are currently playing rugby at Secondary Schools and Rugby Clubs as well as our existing Junior Taggers age group to advance into.
Tag To Tackle is also a great opportunity for young rugby players to develop ‘an edge’ by benefitting from additional coaching. Learn how to transfer and progress existing skills, strengthen techniques and further develop a deeper understanding of the game from our experienced coaches.
Tag To Tackle would be great for children who have an interest in playing rugby but might be a little nervous about playing full contact straight way.
During this new session players will be shown: The correct techniques on how to fall, ball presentation, tackling, body positions – ‘Tower of Power’, rucking, general game play and much more.
